MUNICIPAL WATERING BY-LAW
The municipal watering by-law allows for mechanical watering between 3 and 5 a.m. between May 1 and September 30 in accordance with the following schedule :
-
- Even adresses : Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
- Odd adresses : Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
It is at all times prohibited to :
-
- hose down a driveway, sidewalk, mound of snow, public or private road or a property;
- hose down a car, a recreational vehicle, a building or a construction with a hose that does not have an automatic shutt-off system;
- use a hose that is not attached to the building for which it is intended; or
- use more than one hose at a time, unless to fill a pool.
Inspectors patrol the streets. Residents who do not comply with the watering by-law face a $200 fine for a first infraction.
Recovered rainwater reduces runoff into our municipal sewers.
